Gameboy Classic[]
Preferred hardware. Superior Sound too. Method 1 (Recommended method for all lsdj!): Use GB Transferer or Bung Xchanger with cartridge.
Gameboy Pocket[]
Recommended method: Use GB Transferer or Bung Xchanger with cartridge. (i've noticed some problems with the latest LSDJ (3.8.7), occasionally it will lose the contrast on the screen during editing and playback, tried it with new batteries still happens, every now and then it will hang during playback. I haven't investigated these problems but if anyone has any info it would be much appreciated.)
Info: Yeah, the Gameboy Pocket draws power from the cart's battery. I've used it with the 64M Smart Cart with the fading on the screen. Hopefully the new “Infinite” cart will fix this as it has no internal battery. -2xAA
Gameboy Color[]
Recommended method: Use GB Transferer or Bung Xchanger with cartridge. Gameboy Advance
(Hey GBA users! Add your notes here!)
Gameboy Advance SP[]
GBA SP with Transferer and Xchanger is a great alternative – as good or better as Gameboy Classic I'd say. Good sound together with a very good screen.
Method 2: Success achieved with Flash 2 Advance Cartridge and the Gameboy Bridge. However, memory issues remain and you should stick to lsdj 2.6.3 (or goomba patched v3 releases)
Method 3: Use a Flash 2 Advance Cartridge and Goomba, the Gameboy Emulator. Same memory issues though. Stick to lsdj 2.6.3 (or goomba patched v3 releases)
Gameboy Micro[]
Use a flash cartridge and Goomba, the Gameboy Emulator. Same memory issues though. Stick to lsdj 2.6.3 (or goomba patched v3 releases) Nintendo DS (Hey DS users! Add your notes here!) Lame Boy -GameBoy emulator for DS-PERFECT!
Note: Nintendo DS and Nintendo DS Lite + Lameboy may result in sound problems with kits.
Gb Transferer, Bung Xchanger – RECOMMENDED
WORKS WITH: Gameboy classic, Color, Pocket, Advance, SP.
WON'T WORK WITH: Gameboy Micro, Nintendo DS.
Flash 2 Advance and Gbc Bridge[]
WORKS WITH: Gameboy classic (gray), Gameboy Advance SP
